Class 4 Maths

During maths lessons, your child’s learning will be pitched at an appropriate level to provide the best challenge and support possible. Each year group will be taught units and objectives within their year group- these can be found on the parent overview.  Children who have previous learning gaps or need extra support will receive extra support on Friday mornings and parents will be informed.  The more confident mathematicians will be working on the same objectives, but will be given greater challenge within these to expand and develop their understanding at a much broader and deeper level of mastery. 

Every week the children will have times table tests to improve their fluency and recall of multiplication and division facts. They all have Times Table Rockstars login that will support their practice at home. Weekly practice is very important in Class 4, as it allows children to gain confidence in maths lessons and improves their accuracy and recall, which will aid them when answering mathematical questions.
