Doveridge Primary School

Class 1: Home/School Communication

We believe that good communication between home and school is essential and we have an open-door policy here at Doveridge Primary.

We very much welcome information from you about your child, not only during the initial parent meetings, but throughout your child’s time with us.  It is important to know if they are worried or excited about something, so we can be aware and support them in school.

We enjoy hearing about the children’s hobbies and families and often discuss their weekend news.  If they have learnt new skills or done something new that they are particularly proud of, we'd love to hear about that too. We also ask you how you feel your child is progressing, and we use your knowledge of your child to support our assessment of their learning in school.

How will Class 1 share learning with parents?

Nursery and Reception - Your child’s learning journey will be recorded using the online learning journal, Seesaw. Some group photos, information and communication will be shared using Seesaw. You can also use Seesaw to contact us.

We also hold ‘Parent Share’ afternoons where parents are invited into the school to watch Class 1 share some of that term’s learning through story telling/song/dance.

Other ways you can communicate with us is via the home school diary, sending an email to the school or just catching us at the beginning or end of the day to arrange a meeting.
